Demo Tapes

Since December 23rd, 2005, Catch The Reference? has been making tapes with William as The Jester (save for the first session, featuring a young Joe SanFilippo, and credited to the Spiders).  These tapes feature songs, demos, jokes, speeches, poems, concerts, rehearsals, jams, audio verite, and just about anything else recordable.  They are all in glorious mono.

A few notes regarding the tapes:

• Chronology is not well kept.  Some recordings are clearly dated, others can be figured out, but ultimately, it is impossible to be precise.  Some tapes would be started, abandoned for other tapes, and then picked up later.
• When a song is labeled “take 1,” “take 2,” etcetera, it is not actually the first or second recording.  “Take 1,” simply means it is the first version of a song from that tape to be presented.  It may be the fourth version actually on the tape, and the twentieth version ever made, but it is the first from the tape worth listening to.
